For production of screen printing forms, the woven material (other names for this technology are silk-screen printing, serigraphy, because the silk screen was used for the form production at the beginning) or the wire screen coated with the light-sensitive layer are used. When using the positive foil (printable areas are black and non-printable ones - transparent), the screen is exposed to the UV light. The irradiated places harden (polymerisation) and non-irradiated are easily washed out and remain open. Ink is pressed through the open places onto the printable surface and so the image is formed. The screen-printing is distinguishing by the possibility to apply the thick layer of ink, which may be felt with fingers as the relief, and to obtain especially clear colours. |
