On 28 April 2011 at the National Responsible Business Awards taking place at Vilnius University the company PakMarkas, UAB was recognised in the nomination Environmental Enterprise of the Year 2010 in the category of small and medium enterprises. The award was given for the initiative in searching for innovative recycling solutions and mature attitude towards the impact of business on the environment.
National Responsible Business Awards were presented to 13 Lithuanian and foreign companies, which contribute to the development of social wellness and minimizing of the negative impact on the environment. For the fourth time the initiative was organized within the framework of the United Nations development programme in Lithuania, in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Security and Labour. This year it was the former President of the Republic of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus, who undertook the patronage of the initiative. The awards for the winners in the environment nomination were granted by the Minister of Environment Gediminas Kazlauskas.

This year the special attention at the event was paid to environmental issues: the companies were inquired about the development of innovations, use of any renewable energy sources. Moreover, companies’ strategic decisions aimed at contribution to the creation of the safe environment and sustainable development were assessed.
