PakMarkas to Invest 4 Mio. Litas This Year

Having allocated more than 4 Mio. Litas for acquisition of the cutting-edge technologies, the company PakMarkas providing packaging and marking solutions is planning to proceed with the same rate of investments this year and to invest another 4 Mio. Litas into the modernization of production, creation of new products and come onto the new markets.

Pakmarkas, one of the leading Lithuanian packaging and labelling companies, bought from the Italian company Omet the new label printing equipment for 3 Mio. Litas last year, it also acquired the “Du Pont” “Cyrel FAST” print form production line, the only one as such in eastern Europe so far, for 1,35 Mio. Litas, as well as BARCO laser engraving machine with the latest software installed.

Apart from these, Pakmarkas finished the installation of ISO 14001 environment management system in October, which lasted for just a year, and cost over 10.000 Litas for the company.

“This year we will follow the same tendencies as were chosen last year – implementing the latest technologies in production, employing innovations in increasing our competitiveness, and leaning upon the experience and continuing to improve qualifications we will consolidate our positions in both: Lithuanian market and that of the European Union opening up for us”, - says Ronaldas Vaitiekűnas, Marketing Director of PakMarkas.

Experts say that the growth of packaging and labelling market in Lithuania went steady, with this sector having reached maturity. This means that the domestic competition will grow, and the companies striving for further successful activities should especially focus on the proficiency of the activities and search for new innovative solutions.

PakMarkas has planned the increase of the turnover by 15% approximately this year. Last year PakMarkas turnover totalled 41,9 Mio. Litas and was 8,6 per cent higher in comparison to the year 2002. Further improvements in the activities of the company will be enhanced in 2004 by the reorganization carried out last year in PakMarkas.
