PakMarkas to Build a Bridge to Finland

Having participated at the international food industry exhibition “Food Fair 2003” in Tallinn end of October, Lithuanian packaging and marking services provider “PakMarkas” established more than 100 new business relations, which will produce as estimated by the company 0,6 Mio. Litas income. It is the first time at the exhibition that Finns took interest in the services and solutions provided by Lithuanians.

The main customary participants of the food industry exhibition celebrating the 10th anniversary in Estonia were the Baltic States, Scandinavian as well as Russian companies. The visitors of the exhibition showed major interest in labels, meat packaging and bottling equipment. Finnish companies as contrary to the preceding exhibitions were particularly interested in Lithuanian packaging and marking services this year.

“The Estonian business of packaging and self-adhesive labels used to be Finnish dominant; our company has recently replaced Finns, who are now curious themselves about our services and it is likely, that we will provide our solutions to Finland in the nearest future”, — says Ronaldas Vaitiekűnas, the marketing director of “PakMarkas”. – “We managed to increase the sales of self-adhesive labels by 60% in Estonia last year by offering high-quality and cheaper services than Finns do.”

The Finnish participators of the exhibition „Food Fair 2003“ were most interested in self-adhesive labels and the latest bottling equipment. The market specialists say western consumers have been long satisfied with the quality of the labels produced in Lithuania as well as with the lower prices. “PakMarkas” has already started negotiations with one Finnish company.

“We hope this exhibition will build a bridge for “PakMarkas” to the Finnish market that especially favors innovative and original solutions”, — says Mr. R. Vaitiekűnas.
