PakMarkas reaps the harvest of its activities in Estonia

“PakMarkas”, the Lithuanian company providing packaging and bottling solutions, has been successfully developing in the Estonian market. The company signed the contracts of the value of almost EUR 500,000, under which it will supply the Estonian juice producer “Kadarbiku Koogivili” and the major Estonian company of strong alcoholic drinks “Liviko” with bottling lines.

Operating for more than one year in Estonia so far, “PakMarkas” has provided the local companies with packaging and labeling services, which gave “PakMarkas” a possibility to establish new business relations with companies seeking bottling solutions. Lithuanians believe that one of the major factors that helped “PakMarkas” to build a bridge to the Estonian market was its regular participation in the exhibition “Tallinn Food Fair”.

“It’s three years already that we have been developing close relations with the representatives of the Estonian beverage industry. We began with supplying the company “Kadarbiku Koogivili” with color self-adhesive labels. The satisfying results of our cooperation encouraged the Estonians to invite us in the contest of bottling equipment and we won it”, says Rolandas Vaitiekűnas, the Marketing Director of “PakMarkas”.

With regard to the natural juice producer’s emphasis of the ecological aspect of its production and their high requirements, of which the most important is the minimal product exposure to the air during the bottling process of juice, we chose a specific bottling line of the value of EUR 120,000. It is the only method of bottling of juice allowing to extend the expiry date of products and, also, to retain vitamins and other nutritive qualities.

“Bottling lines of this type are used by Italian winemakers, who also attach a particular importance to the avoidance of the product exposure to the air during the bottling process”, highlights Mr. Vaitiekűnas. Due to the use of the latest bottling technologies, the Estonian juice producers very soon realized their competitive advantage and started planning the export of natural juice to the Finnish market in the nearest future.

Meanwhile, “Liviko”, the biggest Estonian manufacturer of strong alcoholic drinks, which products, “Vana Tallinn” liqueurs and “Viru” vodkas, are available in Lithuania, ordered from “PakMarkas” bottling equipment of the value of EUR 350,000. Active export activities of the Estonian company encouraged it to enhance its production capacity and to modernize the equipment.

“The bottling equipment ordered by the Estonian alcohol producers is also somewhat unusual, as bottling of cream liqueurs “Vana Tallinn” required certain original solutions”, says the representative of “PakMarkas”.

Both offers by “PakMarkas” to the manufacturers of juice and alcoholic drinks proved to be the most attractive in terms of the price and quality ratio. In addition, two years of collaboration allowed the Estonians to evaluate and appreciate a reliable provision of services. It is these features that enabled “PakMarkas” to strengthen its position in the Estonian market.
