PakMarkas harnesses Internet

The largest integral packaging solutions company in Lithuania PakMarkas has already been taking almost half of label printing orders via Internet.

Having invested 50 thousand Litas into a modern internet-based customer relationship management system, the company is planning not only to offer faster services for the local business but also to export more.

“We have already fulfilled the orders of some big international companies, which were handled via our internet service system. Moreover, recently we have fulfilled the label printing order for a company based in Switzerland. We have printed and handled the distribution to different countries of the world. The number of such orders from other Western European countries is also increasing, therefore, we do believe that this system will enhance the development of exports”, notes Virginijus Gumbaragis, the director general of PakMarkas.

The system allows expediting the time of label printing order preparation and customer service. According to the head of the company, this system will be improved and developed so that the customer in any country of the world would be able to follow how his order is managed.

What makes Western companies attracted to the collaboration with Lithuanians are low prices, high quality of printing and the integrity of solutions, i.e. no need to worry about the delivery of goods.

In 2006 PakMarkas increased its turnover in Lithuania by 8% and amounted to 54 million Litas. The turnover of the affiliate PakMarkas company in Latvia was 8,6 million Litas, a rise of 5 %.

PakMarkas is seeking to get the EU support for the innovative label production technologies. The company is planning to allocate 8,6 million Litas to the renovation of printing manufactory.

The company has already carried out the first part of the investment project: purchased seven-colour flexographic printing machine and launched the manufacture of shrink sleeves. During the second part of the project the company will invest into a large-format flexographic printing machine.
