PakMarkas expands its power in Latvia and Estonia

The company of packaging and labeling production services PakMarkas increased its turnover by 18% from M 41.9 LTL in 2003 to M 49.5 LTL last year. This year the producers plan a more active expansion in Latvian and Estonian markets, where not all the opportunities have been taken yet. The turnover of PakMarkas in Latvia went up by 40% last year.

SIA PakMarkas sold its equipment and production for a total of M 7 LTL (M 1.4 LVL) in Latvia last year. The branch of the company in Latvia reached a considerable growth of 40 % in its turnover in the year 2004 and is likely to become one of the major market players as in Lithuania. This year the company in Latvia plans more growth.

Estonian clients are served by PakMarkas from Lithuania so far; the company earned M 2.96 LTL in the Estonian market last year. The total export of PakMarkas last year amounted to M 10.09 LTL.

“One of the key strategic tasks we have foreseen for this year is to become a packaging service company for the entire Baltic region. There is diversity in the development of different spheres of industry in the three Baltic States; as a result, there are differences in the packaging markets as well. Lithuania has the most developed business in this sphere, therefore, we hope to use our knowledge in more fragmented Latvian and Estonian markets,” says the Marketing Director of PakMarkas Ronaldas Vaitiekűnas.

Last year the company signed two contracts in Estonia for the supply of bottling lines to the Estonian juice producer “Kadarbiku Koogivili” and the country’s largest alcohol producer “Liviko” for the price of almost half million euros. Both proposals by PakMarkas were the most attractive considering the price and quality ratio, Estonians appreciated reliable service during several years as well.

PakMarkas plans to continue enhancing its competitiveness in the Baltic region by constant renovation of equipment and investment into advanced technologies. The company intends to allocate about M 3 litas for the modernization of its production this year.
