Laminating with Transparent and Opaque Films

The lamination is carried out in the printing machine, where one ink-coating section serves as the adhesive applying and dosing mechanism. When laminating with transparent films, the adhesive is applied on the printing material, then the transparent film is pressed against the material and the adhesive is irradiated with the UV light directly through the transparent film. When laminating with the opague film, at first, the adhesive applied to the material is activated by passing the material with the adhesive under the UV lamp, them the material and the film are pressed together and stick together.

The lamination has several functions:

  • it may serve as the protective-decorative means (in a case of transparent films);
  • it helps to obtain special design forms (in a case of opaque films), when the label shall be read from both sides.
