In the second quarter of the current year turnover of PakMarkas, the company that offers packing and labelling solutions, amounted to more than 11.7 million Litas and exceeded the turnover of the first quarter (10.7 million Litas) by 9%. Having compared the said amount with the turnover of the second quarter of the year 2009 (9.2 million Litas) one may note the increase the rise of more than 27%. Income from production of labels, which is the main activity of the company, increased by more than 19%, meanwhile income from the sale of gears and automation systems – by approx. 40%. The overall turnover of the first half of the year 2010 amounted to 22.4 million Litas and was 11% higher in comparison to the turnover of the same period of the last year.

“We forecasted the increase, because after moving to the new premises we took steps that were necessary at the recession period: we revised expenditure, improved the organization of work and at the same time we managed to keep the same number of employees,” said Virginijus Gumbaragis, the Director General. According to Gumbaragis, optimisation of activity became an important factor, because the turnover increase was caused by reasons other than recovery of certain sectors of industry. “In every sector of industry there were companies that managed to mobilize effectively at the period of economic recession.”

In the opinion of Gumbaragis export was the main reason of increased turnover - in comparison to the first half of the year 2009 it increased by as much as 57% (from 4.6 to 7.2 million Litas).

The head of PakMarkas expects continued increase of income from the main activities in the second half of the year as the company is going to carry on offering packages that make the household easier and alongside are more environment-friendly. ”Society becomes more and more intelligent and demand for such packages increases. Therefore, our activity is aimed at environment-friendly technologies, which produce respective items,“ emphasized Gumbaragis.
