Cutting, Rewinding, Quality Control

The final processing stage of the roll-type printing production is the rewinding and cutting of the products into smaller rolls of required size and width. There are removed in time of this stage the printing spoilage resulted from the adjustments or stops of the machine in time of production process (e.g. when replacing the roll), and defects generated by other causes.

 

 

„PakMarkas“ pays special attention to quality of its products, therefore, it has acquired the computerised image-monitoring equipment for rewinding and checking the final quality. This equipment enables us to offer to our customers the following advantages:

  • to guarantee, that now each (not only one of several, as it was when checking by means of the equipment with the stroboscopic lamp or by the video-monitoring device) label delivered to the customer meets the master copy agreed upon at the designing stage;
  • the label quality control now is independent of the employee, because comparison is made by the specialised computerised equipment. Additionally, operator’s work now is less irksome, so he/she is able to pay more attention to other operations;
  • productivity of the monitoring process has increased, because the specialised equipment is able to operate efficiently at twice higher speed as compared to the stroboscopic lamp.

The principle of equipment operation may be briefly described as the following:

  • the tape with the labels is rewound and pulled through the equipment;
  • the tape with the labels, which may be accepted as the master copies, is passed through the special scanning device;
  • the device scans and memorises the reference length of the tape equal to one step of the printing cylinder;
  • the tolerance value is entered, and this is carried out only by the shift foreman after entering his/her password;
  • the equipment is launched for operation at full speed, and when there is detected the deviation from the reference length exceeding the tolerance limits, the equipment is stopped so that the tape with the deviation detected is in front of the operator. The place deviating from the reference length is marked with the circle on the screen of the control monitor, and the operator is able to remove it easily.
